RESEARCH INTERESTS
My research is organized around three broad themes: The first concerns intergenerational reciprocity, the extent to which generations can strengthen one another. The second consists of an investigation of intergenerational consequences from family behaviors and belief systems also known as intergenerational mobility. The third seeks to expand access and increase effectiveness of programs for nonprofit organizations. The purpose of my research is to enhance social support and policies in light of intergenerational families and disadvantaged populations.
My research to date has employed a variety of data sources and qualitative methodologies to address important social work and public policy questions. My scholarship applies creative and innovative research designs to galvanize substantive questions in social work, social policy, and nonprofit programming. My use of collaborative policy models, strategic program planning & evaluation, and rigorous empirical research advances both the social work and public administration professions.
