Both myself and my family members have used this recipe for many, many years and it has worked in preventing breakouts and treating blemishes. You can adjust this recipe as needed for oily or dry skin (I will show you in the recipe). Now I must say to read my disclaimer on the website. While I am almost a doctor (PhD), I am not that kind of doctor, if you know what I mean. I am not a licensed skin care professional or dermatologist. This is only a recipe that I picked up from my grandmother and it has worked for me for decades. There should not be any allergens unless you have shown previous allergies to any of the ingredients listed below. Please omit any ingredient that you have shown an allergy to in the past.

28 oz Johnson's Baby Moisture Wash (I use the creamy oatmeal or shea butter formula) or any sensitive skin soap base you prefer will work (be sure to set aside about 4 oz of soap to make your eye makeup remover)

3 cups of granulated sugar (less if skin is sensitive to daily scrubbing)

3 to 4 tablespoons of olive oil (more for dry skin, less for oily skin)

1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar (2 tbsp for oily skin or skin that is prone to breakouts)

2 teaspoons of cinnamon

1/2 cup of natural raw honey

Mix all ingredients in a bowl and stir until the mixture is a golden color. If you have a mixer, even better! This will make about 36oz of wash. If you are making this for several people with different types of skin, portion out the vinegar and oil to adjust for dryness or oiliness. You will have to play around with it based on your preference. That's it! Pour in you favorite containers and it should last you for an entire season. REMEMBER TO USE A BOTTLE OR CONTAINER WHERE YOU CAN SHAKE IT WELL BEFORE EACH USE.

This amount last for me for 3 to 4 months. I wash my face every night and every morning. Shake well before use. Pour desired amount to a wet washcloth and scrub face working up a lather. Rinse with water. Be sure to rinse towel to get rid of the soap for the next use. You can also use this with a paper towel if you prefer. It's great makeup remover as well. I will post another blog for an eye-make up remover formula. I save wine/vodka glass bottles for these mixtures. Vodka is great for making your own body sprays so you can have more and save money from the retailers!!! I will post a body spray recipe in another blog for you. Please comment, like, and share. I would love the interaction!
