For my own sake, I call these, "Make My Man Stay Home" oxtails. Whenever I make these, they release a fragrance throughout the house that says, "today is a stay home and cuddle day"! Whomever is your significant other or even children will totally appreciate this recipe in the slow cooker. It will make you a STAR even if you need to leave and go to work for the day. Although, I am a vegetarian, I still like to make the classics for my husband from time to time. Hope you like these as much as he does!

Seer oxtails in an iron skillet on both sides with chopped onions. Remove from the skillet and save the cartelized "mess" at the bottom of the skillet. Add 2 cups of beef broth, red wine, 1 teaspoon of basil, 1 teaspoon of oregano, two bay leave, hot or sriracha sauce, Worcestershire sauce, 3 cloves of garlic, and a small can of tomato sauce. Let simmer on medium heat for about 5 to 10 minutes.

Re-add oxtails to the season mix then cover with an ovenproof lid or foil. Place in oven on 300 degrees for about 3 hours. You can add potatoes, carrots, celery...whatever chopped veggies you desire and cook for another 30 minutes to an hour depending on the consistency you desire for the vegetables. I don't like the vegetables to be mushy so I cook them all in the oven for an additional 30-40 minutes.

If you prefer to use a slow cooker then you would place the seared oxtails in the crock pot on low heat while you work for the day. About 30 minutes to an hour before dinner time, you will add the vegetables you desire depending on the consistency you like.

Serve over buttered rice (or in my case, I substitute olive oil with sea salt and cracked pepper for butter). Make this recipe all your own as you desire! You can do this. I would love to see what you come up with!
